'Mogo' was the telegraphic code used by the GWR for their fleet of covered vans used for the transport of cars. The vans featured end doors with fold-out panels that enabled a single car to drive inside. Cars could also drive straight through either side and along down the rest of the train to unload. The vans also featured conventional side doors which enabled them to be used as standard goods vans. The vans could commonly seen as part of general goods trains. Early Mogo vans were built with planked bodies but later ones had plywood sides. |
