0-6-0T Kerr Stuart 'Victory' Profile and Models

The Kerr Stuart "Victory" was a type of 0-6-0T tank engine which was built in 1917 for the Inland Waterways & Docks Department. A total of ten locomotives of this class were built. The ten locomotives were built to mainline standards, and were sold by the Railway Operating Department at the end of World War I to a variety of buyers including the Alexandra (Newport and South Wales) Docks and Railway, Brecon and Merthyr Railway, East Kent Light Railway (EKLR) and other private users including collieries. Three of these locomotives were inherited by the Great Western Railway, two of which entering British Railways (BR) stock. No. 667 survived until 1954 and No. 666 until 1955. Seven of the locomotives ended up in service with the National Coal Board with the last example being scrapped in 1969. None of the class have survived into preservation. |
