The Avonside Engine Company were perhaps best known for their diminutive 0-4-0ST shunting locomotives. They produced many of these from their works in Bristol. Most of these were purchased by the Great Western Railway, many of which went on to be used at docks and other industrial locations. One example, 'Trojan' has been preserved at the Didcot Railway Centre. |
